RIC Book Review + Advent Devotional
Throughout the four Sundays of Advent, the Reconciling in Christ Committee invites you to a short Book Review + Advent Devotional series during coffee hour in the manor lounge. Each week, an RIC member will share a 5-10 minute recommendation and review on a book exploring inclusion, diversity, and how we welcome all our neighbours, followed by a brief devotional led by Pastor Aneeta. This informal series supports our congregation as we prepare for the presentation of Spirit of Life's newly drafted Welcome Statement at the February AGM, and offers a gentle way to learn and reflect (and maybe even find a meaningful Christmas gift!).
We begin this Sunday, November 30th, with Lorraine's recommendation of Transforming: The Bible & the Lives of Transgender Christians by Austen Hartke.
Our second book recommendation on December 7th is from Rebekah—The Anti-Greed Gospel: Why the Love of Money Is the Root of Racism and How the Church Can Create a New Way Forward by Malcolm Foley.
The third book recommendation will be led by Audrey on December 14th, and is still TBD!
Finally, Bee will recommend the novel Gay the Pray Away by Natalie Naudus on the Fourth Sunday in Advent, December 21st.
